Fort Macleod residents will gather Friday, Nov. 11 for the annual Remembrance Day ceremony at the community hall.
It will be the first indoor ceremony in two years, after restrictions on the size of gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic moved the ceremony outdoors.
The ceremony gets under way at 10:45 a.m. under the direction of Canadian Forces veteran Tony Miller.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints choir will sing O Canada, follow by the prayer of invocation by Rev. MiYeon Kim of Trinity United Church.
The Last Post will be played, followed by two minutes of silence, the Piper’s Lament by the Bridge City Highlanders Pipes and Drums, and Reveille.
Legion first vice-president Dan Markey will perform the Act of Remembrance.
The Act of Remembrance will be followed by the hymn Faith of Our Fathers led by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints choir.
Rev. Kim will offer scripture readings, and Fort Macleod Mayor Brent Feyter will give an address.
W.A. Day school student Nevayah Fox will read the poem In Flanders Fields.
The choir will then lead the hymn Let There Be Peace on Earth.
Nate Poytress, Adeline Van Herk and Ilias Bergen will then recite the poem I Am the Cenotaph.

The choir will lead God Save the King.
