The Fort Macleod Health Care Auxiliary Association is running its Tree of Hope fund-raiser. Colleen Pansky and Edith Rigaux of the auxiliary were at Fort Macleod Library on Santa Claus Parade weekend to promote the Tree of Hope.
Fort Macleod and district residents have an opportunity again this year to help a local group continue its good work.
The Fort Macleod Health Care Auxiliary Association is staging its Tree of Hope fund-raiser.
People are able to make a financial donation to the auxiliary and in return, the auxiliary puts a tag on the Tree of Hope identifying donors and the people being recognized and remembered.
“The Tree of Hope is a project dedicated to recognizing and remembering our loved ones at this joyous time of giving and family celebration,” the auxiliary explained.
The auxiliary puts proceeds from the Tree of Hope fund-raiser toward the Saturday operation of the Fort Macleod Handibus.
The money is also used to fund a scholarship presented by the auxiliary to a graduating F.P. Walshe school student who plans to attend post-secondary in the medical field.
The auxiliary also uses the money to fund other projects that support health care in the Fort Macleod Health Centre.
Each year the auxiliary puts the Tree of Hope in the Fort Macleod post office where it will remain until Jan. 1.
Charitable tax receipts will be issued for donations totalling $20 or more.
Cheques can be sent to the Fort Macleod Health Care Auxiliary Association, P.O. Box 1866, Fort Macleod, T0L 0Z0.
Print the name of the person you wish to recognize or remember, and designate whether you are recognizing the memory of someone, or honouring them.
“Every gift is an investment in health care for our community,” the auxiliary noted. “The auxiliary has a mandate to help the aged, the ill and the very young.”
