On Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, at the age of 89 years, Emil Wettstein peacefully joined his beloved wife Sheila in heaven.
Emil is survived by his four children, Michael (Faïzilée), Christopher (Holly), Katherine (Glenn) and James (Amy); 11 grandchildren, Sarah, Amanda, Matthew, Emily, Jacob, Abby, Samuel, Kelty, Eric, Maren, and Marla; two great grandchildren, Dévi and Kylian; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Emil was predeceased by his wife Sheila; parents Karl and Fanny; and brothers Karl and Eugene.
Emil lived a full, healthy, and active life, dedicated to hard work, kindness, integrity, and service to anyone in need of a helping hand. Always kind and wearing a smile, Emil was steadfast in his dedication to his wife, children, and faith. He was an inspiration to those who knew him, and he will be missed. We love you, Dad.
We would like to thank the staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton for their care and compassion during our father’s final days on this earth.
A small family service for Emil took place in Fort Macleod on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, where he was laid to rest next to his beloved wife Sheila.
