Stacheruk named Walshe assistant principal

Livingstone Range School Division last week named Susan Stacheruk assistant principal of F.P. Walshe school in Fort Macleod beginning in the 2024-’25 school year.

Stacheruk has been serving as acting assistant principal for the 2023-’24 school year.

Principal Chad Jensen appreciates Stacheruk’s contributions to school leadership.

“I am very excited to have Susan returning next school year in her role as assistant principal,” Jensen said. “She has been an invaluable member of our team and continues to have a positive impact on the school community of F.P. Walshe.”

Stacheruk holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Physical Education) from Augustana University, a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta, and a Masters of Arts (Administration and Supervision) from Gonzaga University.

Stacheruk began teaching in Livingstone Range School Division in 2000 and has taught at F.P. Walshe school for the last 15 years.

Stacheruk has served as professional development representative, athletic director, and learning support lead.

Helping to continue the positive school culture at the school, Stacheruk is grateful for the opportunity to serve as assistant principal.

“I feel very fortunate to be able to continue on in this role,” Stacheruk said. “This past year I have learned so much and look forward to learning more. The staff and students make F.P. Walshe warm and welcoming to all.”

Stacheruk is a proud mom of a son and daughter who both play hockey.

Her daughter plays hockey at Mount Royal University, while her son plays hockey in the winter and lacrosse in the spring and summer.

When not supporting her kids’ sports, Stacheruk spends time with her partner, golfing, hiking, traveling, watching other sports, and gardening in the summer.
