Fort Macleod churches unite for an Easter Cantata

Voices from four area churches came together Sunday for an Easter Cantata.

I Am the Lord of the Dance was performed before an appreciative audience at Trinity United Church in Fort Macleod.

Proceeds from the cantata will go to the Fort Macleod Handibus Society and the local food bank.

The choir was made up of singers from Trinity United, Granum United, Christ Church Anglican and Holy Cross Catholic churches.

Marj Hart was conductor and pianist, and Pam Young was narrator.

Following an opening prayer by Rev. MiYeon Kim of Trinity United, the choir opened with I Danced in the Morning, followed by Fairest Lord Jesus.

Next on the list was I Danced for the Scribe and the Pharisee, I Want Jesus to Walk With Me, My Jesus, I Love Thee, and I Danced on the Sabbath.

The choir then sang Remember Me, O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee, Benediction, and On the Third Day.

The final song was I Am the Lord of the Dance.

The cantata also featured an organ and piano duet of The Holy City.

Audience and choir members gathered for refreshments in the church hall following the performance.
