Southwest United lost two of three games Saturday in a high school boys sevens tournament at Lethbridge Rugby Club.
United beat Chinook Coyotes but lost to County Central Hawks and Catholic Central Cougars.
Southwest United is based in Fort Macleod but includes players from F.P. Walshe, Willow Creek Composite in Claresholm, Livingstone school in Lundbreck and Matthew Halton school in Pincher Creek.
In their opening game Saturday morning, Kael Smith scored two tries and kicked one convert to saprk United to a 24-10 win over Chinook Coyotes from Lethbridge.
Smith’s efforts earned him Man of the Match honours. The honour is determined by United players.
Ruan Peterson scored a try and kicked the convert and James Neels had one try.
In their next game Saturday afternoon, United fell 20-7 to County Central Hawks from Vulcan.

Oliver Peterson was named Man of the Match for United.
United closed out the tournament against the powerful Catholic Central Cougars from Lethbridge.
The Cougars shut out United 35-0, spoiling strong efforts by Kael Smith and Ethan Gouchie who shared Man of the Match honours for United.
Next action for Southwest United is a junior high tournament on Friday, May 2 at Vulcan.
The senior United team plays in a tournament at Vulcan on Sunday, May 3.
