Madison Violet says farewell at Empress

Madison Violet, the Juno Award-nominated, singer-songwriter folk-pop duo, will be the first show in the newly renovated Empress Theatre on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m.

Madison Violet is comprised of Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac, who have announced that this year, their 25th anniversary, will also be their final year together as a band.

After a remarkable quarter-century filled with love, loss, laughter, and the kind of honesty that can only be found in music, the duo is parting ways creatively and pursuing new paths.

At the Empress stop on their farewell tour, the band will connect one last time with the fans and friends who’ve supported them around the world.

Throughout their career, Madison Violet has been celebrated for their raw, poetic lyricism, tight vocal harmonies, and unmistakable musical chemistry.

Their storytelling — sometimes heartbreaking, often humorous, always human — has resonated deeply with audiences across generations.

They received a Juno nomination for Roots Traditional Album of the Year, a Canadian Folk Music Award for Vocal Group of the Year, multiple East Coast Music Award nominations, and the honour of becoming the first Canadians to win the Maxell John Lennon Songwriting Grand Prize.

The pair earned a Producer of the Year nomination in 2023 for their self-produced album Eleven, showcasing not only their songwriting strength, but their creative independence.

Whether it’s the first time or the fiftieth, audiences are invited to experience the magic of Madison Violet in the recently renovated Empress Theatre.

While Madison Violet is saying goodbye, patrons will be saying hello to the Empress’ newly refurbished seats, new flooring, carpeting and updated washrooms.

Tickets to see Madison Violet, the second show in this season’s Centre Stage Series, are available at www.macleodempress.com, by calling 403-553-4404 or at the Box Office on Main Street.
