Chinook West Little League fields teams in three divisions

Chinook West Little League fielded teams in all three age divisions in AA summer ball this year — Minors, Majors and Teenage.

This is the first time in over 15 years Chinook West has had teams in all three divisions. The teams are made up of players from all over southern Alberta and B.C.

The Chinook West teams were at Championship Weekend from Aug. 5-7, with the Minors in Cochrane-Calgary, the Majors in Lethbridge and the Teenage team in Edmonton.

The Chinook West Minors line-up included Ryder Nielson of Fort Macleod;  Levi Penner, Logan Pittman, Ethan Ferguson, and Cohen Smith of Claresholm; Dylan Hovde, Cole Hubick, and Ryder Debolt of Vulcan; and Mikka Kuftinoff of Lundbreck.

Minors coaches are Jay Hubick, Cody Debolt and Craig Pittman and manager is Jay Penner.

The Chinook West Majors line-up featured Chase Nielson, Riley Maljaars and Jack Hewlett of Fort Macleod; Brady Ring of Claresholm; Shae Wickstrom of Vulcan; Bryden Markowski and Owen Tkachuk of the Crowsnest Pass; Ben Chamberlain  and Kavan Cook of Elkford; and Dayson Loose and Colton Olson of Magrath.

Majors coaches are Glenn Ring, Kyle Wickstrom and Derek Chamberlain.

Suiting up for the Chinook West Teenage team were Joey Van Rootselaar, Keegan Scott, Preston McLeod, Easton Wright, Ty McLean, Josh Penner and Carson Ring of Claresholm; Eli Steed and Kohlmann Blackmore of Magrath; Emery Willms, Cashe Kropinak and Finn McIntosh of Pincher Creek; and George Greene of Vulcan.

Teenage coaches are Brad Kropinak, Ken Wright and Craig Scott.
