Due to a lack of physician coverage, the Fort Macleod Health Centre emergency department will close for 24 hours.
The emergency department will close at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 16 and re-open at 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 17 to provide 24-hour service.
During the closure, nursing staff will remain on-site to provide care for long-term care residents.
Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency.
EMS calls will be re-routed to Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.
Patients seeking care can access emergency services at the Pincher Creek Health Centre, Cardston Health Centre or Chinook Regional Hospital.
Residents can call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions. Individuals requiring non-emergency medical care are also encouraged to call their family physician.
