For the second time in a week the emergency department at Fort Macleod Health Centre will be closed temporarily.
Due to a lack of physician coverage, the department will close from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19.
This is the latest in a series of physician coverage shortage that have closed the emergency department in Fort Macleod.
The emergency department was closed due to physician shortage on Oct. 12, Sept. 19 and Sept. 6.
Nursing staff will remain on-site to provide care for long-term care residents.
Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency.
EMS calls will bee re-routed to Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.
Patients seeking care can access emergency services at Pincher Creek or Cardston health centres or Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.
Health Link at 811 is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions.
Individuals requiring non-emergency medical care are encouraged to call their family physician.
