Fort Macleod residents have opportunities to shape the future of health care in Alberta.
The government will hold in-person engagement sessions this month in Pincher Creek, Claresholm and High River.
“Ensuring Albertans and their families have a health care system that is responsive and reliable is critical,” Health Minister Adriana LaGrange said in a news release. “That’s why it’s so important we have these face-to-face conversations with front line workers, patients and caregivers about the challenges that exist and how we can build a stronger health care system that serves the current and future needs of Albertans.”
Engagement sessions will be held in the following communities:
- Pincher Creek from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24.
- Claresholm from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31.
- High River, from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31.
A session was held earlier in Lethbridge.

Government officials will attend these sessions wherever possible, including LaGrange, Seniors, Community and Social Services Minister Jason Nixon, Mental Health and Addiction Minister Dan Williams, and parliamentary secretary for Rural Health Martin Long.
Health care workers and members of the public are encouraged to register on-line.
LaGrange will also be visiting hospitals and acute care facilities across the province throughout this engagement and continuing into the spring.
Fort Macleod and district residents can also help shape health care through an on-line engagement tool.
People can share ideas on refocusing health care and how to improve and strengthen delivery of services across the province.
The on-line tool will address the same topics as the in-person engagement sessions happening across the province
