Granum will celebrate Canada Day with a car show, pancake breakfast, barbecue, birthday cake, parade and fireworks and much more.
The Canada Day committee has arranged a full day of activities for Tuesday, July 1 beginning with a show ‘n’ shine of vintage and custom vehicles.
The show ‘n’ shine sponsored by the Granum and District Historical Society runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Granum Old Jail and Museum
A free pancake breakfast will be served from 8-10 a.m. at the Country Stop.
The Granum Library will host activities for people of all ages from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A barbecue lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Granum Drop In Centre. Admission is by donation.
A parade of cars entered in the show ‘n’ shine will take place from 2-2:30 p.m.
Activities for children run from 2-4 p.m. in the park, and a concession stand in the Homesteader will be open from 2-4 p.m.
The Canada Day cake-cutting ceremony is planned for 4:45 p.m. at the Granum Golf Club clubhouse.
That will be followed at 5 p.m. by the Canada Day dinner at the golf club.
At 7 p.m. a DJ takes center stage at the golf club to provide entertainment.
The annual Canada Day parade gets under way at 7 p.m., with an expected array of colourful entries including horses, carriages and riders.
The day-long celebration will conclude with a fireworks show at dusk, weather-permitting.
