Award-winning mentalist and trickster Jeff Newman is bringing his own unique brand of magic to the Empress on Saturday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m.
Newman will influence your thoughts. He will predict what you’ll do before you even know you’re doing it. He will even read your mind.
For more than a decade, Newman has astonished audiences around the world by combining suggestion, science, old-fashioned trickery, humour, and charm to provide an engaging experience that keeps audiences talking long after the event.
Newman first began performing in 2011 for corporate audiences, theatres, festivals, events and cruise ships across the globe.
In 2014, Newman brought his hit show Mind Games: Brain-Bending Magic to the 33rd annual Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival.
Since then, Jeff has toured his critically acclaimed shows around the world.
Newman has been seen and heard on CBC, CTV, Global TV, in addition to several radio appearances, and has also performed to sell-out crowds and rave reviews in more than 20 countries on five continents.
Newman was born and raised in New Sarepta, Alta. His house was always full of friendly tricks, pranks, puzzles, experiments, and family games where cheating was the norm.
A children’s magic kit and an episode of World’s Greatest Magic was all it took to make magic a permanent passion.
In addition to mentalism and magic, Newman has been seen on stage as an actor and improviser.
In 2012, Newman made his acting debut in the world premiere play 1000 Names by Cheslea Woolley and has performed in several stage productions since. Jeff also was a recurring ensemble member of an improv theatre group based in Lethbridge from 2012 to 2016.
Newman’s mind-reading marvels will have you laughing, cheering, and gasping as you witness something you have never seen before. Come as a skeptic, go home a believer.
