Patton new assistant principal at W.A. Day school

Livingstone Range School Division announced lst week that Craig Patton is acting assistant principal of W.A. Day school beginning in the 2024-’25 school year.

W.A. Day school principal Nick Beer looks forward to Patton’s contributions to school administration.

“I am excited to have Craig join me on the admin team at W.A. Day,” Beer said. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team as well as an enthusiasm for seeing kids succeed.”

Patton holds bachelor of education and master of education degrees from the University of Lethbridge.

Patton has spent all but half a year of his 38-year teaching career with Livingstone Range School Division and teaches physical education at W.A. Day school.

Patton is excited to continue his work with the W.A. Day students and staff as acting assistant principal.

“I feel incredibly blessed at this stage of my career to work with the school in this capacity,” Patton said. “I look forward to working with Nick and learning from his leadership style.”

“I feel fortunate to be able to continue teaching physical education and organizing the celebrations of sport in our division for students in the elementary grades.”

Married to his wife JoAnn for 17 years, Patton is the father to four adult children and grandfather to 12 grandchildren.

He has coached volleyball for 30 years and rugby for 40 years, and his boys rugby team recently captured Tier 2 provincial silver medals for the second year. in a row

Patton enjoys camping with his wife, reading, relaxing at the family cabin, watching the Blue Jays, and cheering on his grandchildren in sports, singing, and performing in their school’s rock band.
