The Piikani Nation RCMP seized drugs, weapons and a large amount of cash while executing a search warrant at a Brocket residence.
Piikani Nation RCMP seized drugs and weapons from a Brocket residence and charged a local man on March 31.
The RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on 20th Street in Brocket where they discovered illegal drugs, prescription medication, scales with drug residue and other indications of drug trafficking.
Police also seized numerous edged weapons including a prohibited butterfly knife; two replica firearms; and two rifle magazines, including one that is capable of holding 30 rounds.
In addition, the RCMP seized $1,620.
A 36-year-old man and a female youth, both residents of Brocket, were arrested in the residence.
The female was released without charges, while the man faces charges of possession of a controlled substance; possession of items used in the trafficking of a controlled substance; possession of proceeds of crime; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and unauthorized possession of a prohibited device
The man is to appear in Alberta court of justice on May 29.
