Randy Bohnet named Granum school principal

Livingstone Range School Division named Randy Bohnet principal of Granum school beginning in the 2024-’25 term.

Bohnet has been acting principal at Granum since September and was assistant principal from 2020-’23.

“Randy has spent the past four years developing strong relationships with the students, staff, and parents of Granum school,” superintendent Darryl Seguin said. “His vast administrative and teaching experience over his career has prepared him well for this position.”

Bohnet holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Calgary, a bachelor of education degree from the University of Lethbridge, and a master of educational leadership degree from the University of Calgary.

Bohnet has been in administration roles with Livingstone Range since 2003.

Seguin is certain Randy’s leadership will continue to benefit the Granum school community.

Bohnet said he appreciates the positive family feel of the school, which benefits students.

“I am super excited to be part of growing that culture and watching our students excel in it,” Bohnet said. “With the ongoing support of a very involved parent council and the enthusiasm of students and staff, I look forward to us accomplishing our vision of engaging and inspiring leaders of the future.”

In his spare time Bohnet likes to fly fish, tie flies, golf, play pickleball, tinker with old cars and motorcycles, woodwork, and go boating.

Mostly Bohnet enjoys time with his wife and reading with his grandkids when they’re not playing and building things together.
